To the person who stole my flogger
Dec. 10th, 2006 01:34 amYou took advantage of an open bag while I was busy doing my demo, bad me for not paying more attention. Good for you for spotting an oportunity.
And yes.. You scored big. That is a one of a kind, hand turned handle in oak and mahogany. The falls are 7 mm buffalo hide. A flogger like that would run you close to $400.00 (Edit: Ok.. closer to $200, I have found out, but STILL...), if you could find an artisan to make it for you.
Let me tell you how I got it... I certainly didn't commission it myself. It was given to me. By a woman who had been a player in the scene she loved for most of her life. A woman who was, at the time, too sick to play anymore. She wanted her toys to continue having the fun she was denied.
So, make sure you honor what you have taken... It has a history.. A story... And it is important that it is cherished, well used, and most importantly, it is important that it is honored.
Look up honor in the dictionary. You owe the flogger that much, you unbelievably heinous bundle of fucking scum.

Date: 2006-12-10 12:54 pm (UTC)Journeys rarely begin, evolve, or end the way we think they will or want them to. I'm willing to bet the person(s) temporarily in possession of it are about to find that out, just like you are right now.
My minions are here to assist you, love. I hope you not only get that flogger back; you get details regarding the misappropriation of same. I've unleashed the hounds!

I'm sorry dude.

Date: 2006-12-10 04:55 pm (UTC)The wife had a box of toys stored at a friend's house, including a bunch of whips made by Sarah Lashes. The entire box was stolen. You can't get Sarah's whips anymore.

Date: 2006-12-10 06:32 pm (UTC)follow up words: may karma make itself abundantly known by biting that sneaky, disrespectful, unconscionable klepto in the ass in the most unpleasant way possible.
Oh Bug...
Date: 2006-12-10 06:41 pm (UTC)Word to the wise - from Mommy. ASSIGN someone to watch your toybag while you are otherwise engaged - or resign yourself when going to events - and most especially in bars - to only bringing those toys with you that CAN be replaced (ie: not sentimental).
P.S. I lost a singletail that very same way...

Date: 2006-12-10 09:47 pm (UTC)First, objects, tools, especially tools of vocations, passions, or trades are imbibed with a sacredness for many people. The things we use to express ourselves with do have value.
Which leads me to my second objection: While it is true that people obviously have more value than objects (even objects that are so imbibed with a sacredness of vocation), that fact does not render object valueless.
Still, you do offer a check of perspective.
