Don't MESS with Mom!

wheelieterpAfter everything else... My Mom got laid off today... She has worked for the same non-profit family services/foster care agency for 12 years doing the thankless and nearly impossible job of managing the admin end of things..And Wham! They eliminated her position. No warning... 2 years from retirement.... I am so angry for her, I feel paralized.
She is a dynamo.. I mean one of those people who is just INCREDIBLY talented at what she does. And I don;t say this just because she is my mom.. She really is amazing.. People she works with have been telling me for years how wonderful she is: how skilled and devoted. She's in her early 60's.. She should not be in a position where she needs to look for work.. She should be planning her retirement.. She and Dad have been talking about it.. Now, in order to do what they have planned, she needs to find another job. I am pissed. She does not deserve this.
