Everytime I think I am over the quitting smoking thing, the nicotine craving BITCH pops up and I get Mean again...I was having a perfectly LOVELY evening, A friend online made a funny comment and I got mean. I hate this.. A month on Wednesday since I quit.. Anyone know when I become human permanantly again??

I haven't smoked since January...did it cold turkey. I think we just notice the grumpiness more because we aren't smoking/don't have that to fall back on. Meaning...we can't say 'I'll just have a cigarette and that'll make me all better.' I'd give yourself some more time on the grumpiness due to lack of nicotine. I found just taking a few deep breaths as if I were inhaling a cigarette really helped. Sometimes a few deep breaths is all we really need. It also helped me to think of the wonderful pure air I was taking the deep breaths with instead of poison filled smoke...but that's just my 2 cents.

I Did use the patch for a few weeks,, But I smoked a pack a day for 20 years.. I figureed going cold turkey while working with children might not be such a good idea.. The school district I work for frowns on choking the living shit out of the students.. I checked.. LOL I ran out of patches in Mexico last week and have stopped using them... So I have been 100% nicotine free for a week!! Thanks for the props!!
