About three months ago, I had to format my hard drive and re-install windows. I backed up everything to CD. Or so I thought.. the CD with my documents on it only recorded the FOLDER and none of the contents of the folder. A year and a half worht of writings. Gone. Including 150 pages of the Great American Novel I was working on at one point and decided to look over and perhaps get back to tonight. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK. I ACTUALLY SOBBED, gut wrenching, hysterical sobbing.... I am better now.. I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason.. Apparently the reason for this was to make sure I know that my life SUCKS.

I think sometimes the only reason things happen is because they do. On the plus side, I fully expect the sun to rise on another day of limitless opportunity for you.

I am a "Little w" writer, not a "Big W" Writer. still it was mine and it represented a lot of work.. To tell you the truth, the novel probably sucked eggs.. But there were some articles I had written for various publications and some angsty poetry that would have been a SCREAM to read now and perhaps post. Oh well.. I am not one to dwell on loss. I will be fine. Maybe. LOL. Thanks.

I just found out something similar happened to me. I had taken hundreds of SEM pictures for my research and copied them onto cds, but only the folders copied. That's hundreds of hours of work down the tubes. Oh well.
