OMG, Shoe.
Apr. 8th, 2007 02:35 amI haven't bought new shoes for myself in two years. I wear the same pair of Timberline hiking boots everyday, and recently, they have started to break down on me. I decided that I would buy a new pair with this last paycheck, but the move has proven to cost more than I expected, and I cannot afford new boots this week.
Tonight, I changed out of them into my dance shoes, and left them in the truck.
Later, I discovered my phone missing and went to frantically search the truck for it. I did not find the phone, but apparently, during the search, one of my boots fell out unseen.
I guess I am going to have to buy a cheap pair of new shoes.
But someone found the phone and dialed the last person I had called, which was
jumpingblind, whom I was standing next to when he got the call, so I got the phone back at least.
I am so sick of being poor.
I am going to go ahead and take some freelance jobs. As much as I hate freelance interpreting, I really need new hiking boots. With the billing cycle the way it is, I can only hope that I get paid in time to buy some before the hiking season has come and gone.
