have a heart
Sep. 27th, 2006 04:34 pmDuring my last MS checkup, it was observed that the left ventricle of my heart was enlarged... This came to be a cause for some concern and theories were bandied about... One was that the MS was effecting the automatic nervous system that controls my heart and I could be having a bunch of small infarctions... If this was the case, it could have been really, really bad....
Today, I had a sonogram with a cardiologist.... This is what I learned:
1) Despite the long list ofassholes guys that have given it their best shot, it is not, in fact, broken.
2) It's a girl
3) It's actually fine
4) Doctors really, really hate it when you grab the stethoscope and yell "IS THIS THING ON???" into it.
Who knew???
It has been 18 months since my last cardio work-up and in that time, I have taken up long distance cycling... My heart HAS increased in mass because of a condition known as Athlete's Heart.... No.. It does not itch....And it is not a problem....
It's official.. I am heap-big stud muffin now...
