This is just freaking brilliant...This guy takes a picture of himself everyday for 6 years.. everyday.. sick, sad..whatever.

This just blows my mind.. the capabilities we possess for marking the passage of time... Staggering...

I first saw this some time ago.

It has a haunting, mesmerising quality about it that defies quick description.

I enjoyed also watching items move across the floor or wall in the background, chairs that moved, shoes that moved. quite fascinating.

I toyed with doing one of these myself, but I realised I didn't have the dedication to do it.

thanks for reminding me about it.

What an awesome project! For the last two years I've been trying to start a "Picture of the Day" where I'd take one picture a day that represented that day or whatever - I think I was able to get as far as February before it all screeched to a halt. Maybe a face-picture a day isn't that difficult since I stare at the screen every day at one point!

Thanks for sharing this bud!

Although it was cool, I was kind of hoping to see his hair totally wig out, or start sliding down the back of his head.

Maybe some fingernail growth...

But it was pretty cool!

amazing. even though he kept his mouth one way, by looking in his eyes you could tell his mood. The hair cuts, clothes changes (it looks like he was a waiter for a little while because of the tux like clothes), the stubble on his face...who could imagine it would be that interesting.

What remains most strange to me is how static, and lifeless, this guy seems. He floats from place to place, expressionless, changless, his eyes haunting, unresponsive at all times to what is around him.

A quick look at YouTube revealed that there are all sorts of people doing this video diary, but most - like this guy - choose to photograph themselves in front of a a blank-wall treatment, and most choose similar minimalist music.

But this girl is ALIVE!

Thanks Bug....for this...

This might be the first YouTube thingee I would like to keep around —to look at from time to time.

The whole thing was so Andy Warhal-ish in nature, I had to watch at it a couple of times...

The one thing that really struck me about it was how he managed to keep the images centered (for the most part) on his eyes, as if to remind me of a personal belief of mine that through one's eyes, one's soul is seen -no matter how much of the rest of our countenance (or our lives for that matter) change. Actually, I have to admit, that I caught myself staring, for moments, at just his eyes, never changing as they were, even as everything around them ebbed and flowed.

I only wish that he had grown some kind of facial hair once in awhile in the six years he did this...probably because I would have found that amusing (and because I'm sucker for that sort of thing on guys anyway).

Again, thanks for sharing this with us....
