I hobble around the house on crutches or just holding onto the wall a lot.... Sylvie, the demonic little tail-less fur spud, thinks this is great fun... She stalks me and leaps at my legs, swatting them... Mind you, I am 250 plus pounds of towering, teetering, crushing doom, but she is fearless.... She has this look... I couldn't explain it for the longest time until I happened to look down tonight, just as her pounce made contact with my calf and she feigned in for the throat-crushing bite...It's a split second. So brief, I can't even swear she makes contact...

But I see it in her eyes....

I'm the fucking wounded Gazelle on the African Savannah....

Never mind that she's a fellow Crip... There is no solidarity on the Savannah... Nor, apparently, in the living room.

Forgive me for not noticing earlier but I had no idea that you were back on crutches and out of the chair. A good sign, yes? Hooray! :)

It's actually no different. I have always been able to be on my feet (with support) for very short periods.

I have always maintained that cats are not truly domesticated. Dogs, it is said, chose to domesticate themselves, and their acceptance of humans as surrogate packs is complete. But cats retain every predator instinct, and are always one bird, or mouse, short of reverting to their inner wildness.

I also maintain that dogs are our pets. We are our cats' pets.

Yes...Gazelle. That is exactly the animal I was looking for to describe you. So long, and smooth, and elegant. Gazelle, of course.

Not wildebeast, not waterbuffalo...Gazelle. Impala-esque, even..

Mwah, dahlings!

I love him even more than my scarlet cha-cha heels, and he know it.
